The following information came from the Chariton Township-Appanoose County, Iowa Cemetery Book published in the 1980s by the App. Co. Gen. Society:

SALEM CEMETERY-located in Section 2 of Chariton Township on the south side of Highway 142 east of Iconium.

ROW 15

BROWN: Erastus Mar. 25, 1937-Aug. 13, 1911 (birth year must be a typo error probably 1837 ?)
Co. M 3 IA Cav.
Minerva Mar. 15, 1843-Mar. 15, 1912
