Since this article was printed on March 31st (a Monday) and it says he died on Sunday that puts his date of death as March 30th.

It also says that his wife survived him so her date of death would not be February or March of 1930 as you posit in your original post.

Since we have the one clue that she was buried in 1935, maybe you can look at the Ottumwa newspaper archive in that year and find an announcement of her death.
