There was hardly any settlement of Appanoose County until the mid-1840's. It's unlikely a man in his 60's would venture into such raw territory. There were certainly no records until that time, and few records prior to 1850.

I'm sure you're aware of this, but here is an entry on World Connect that shows his and her death dates and locations.
