I'm looking for an obituary for a Jacob D. Robinson/Robison, who I believe died in Appanoose County. The surname is common and spelled a few different ways, but I may have a lead.
My Jacob D. Robi(n)son was born in Pennsylvania in August, 1861. His name changes in the censuses from Robison to Robinson, so I've had trouble tracking him, but by 1895 he had married a Sarah Williams and settled in Mystic (or thereabouts), Appanoose County, Iowa. They had many children, including a Jessie Robison/Robeson/Robinson (my great-grandmother).
There seems to be other Robi(n)son families in the immediate area, most of whom are involved in coal mining. In the 1900 census Jacob D. Robi(n)son's family appears in Putnam Co., Missouri, but by 1910 they are again back in Appanoose Co.
I don't know when Jacob or his wife Sarah died and I don't know where they are buried, but I found an online index of Appanoose County death certificates (1928-1931) that listed a Jacob Dewalt Robinson. This Jacob was born on August 5, 1861 in Pennsylvania and died on May 31, 1931 in Appanoose County, Iowa, so I think (but am not certain) that he is my Jacob.
I'm looking for information on this family, particularly an obituary for Jacob D. Robi(n)son, his wife Sarah, or his daughter Jessie May Clark. Does anyone recognize these names?
All the best,
Robert J. Powell
