Yes, the middle initial is a problem. There are discrepancies in other records, father listed "as":

"Chas. A." on William's death certificate
"Chas. Wm." on William's second marriage certificate
"Wesley Charles" on William's first marriage certificate

That's why I hope the birth record is available to clear this up. Every reference, census and certificates, list Iowa as birth place of both Charles and William.
