I'll do some more digging tomorrow and see what I can find.

I don't know how much you know about Elizabeth's parents, but I bet the father is either R.A., R.J. or John Raney that you can find in the upper right hand corner of this plat map of Douglas Township from 1896. They're right next to George W. Taylor's land. That's probably the son and not the father.

In an ultimate irony, I grew up a farm that my father bought from George Lilly in 1954, which was the land that R.J. Raney owned in 1896.
