I would say the library would be the best place to start. The Genealogy Section on the second floor has an index to the county cemeteries which should give you the name and township of the cemetery you're looking for if you don't already know it. They also have the individual township cemetery books (ask for these at the main desk on the first floor)-these will give you the information that appeared on the individual stones. With a death date, you can then check the microfilms of old Centerville newspapers for obits. (microfilms are also located on the first floor). There are many genealogical records in the Genealogy Section of the library, births, deaths, marriages, and probates as well as scrapbooks of obits, etc.
If you don't know the actual death date and can't find it in the cemetery books at the library, you will probably need to go to the Appanoose County Courthouse to check death records.
Good Luck in your search!
Jeanie
