Obituary
Captain Francis Philby
Captain Francis Edinbough Philby, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Philby, was born on the Atlantic ocean in the Irish waters during the period of the parents immigration to this country, Dec. 12, 1863. They landed in America and soon after they took up their residence in Brazil, where he died Wednesday evening, May 1, 1918.
Mr. Philby was united in the bonds of wedlock to Miss Alta Louden of Lincoln, Neb., and to this union no children were born. Mr. Philby's wife was a help mate who did not continue true to him in the time when most needed.
Those left to mourn the loss of the departed brother are his brothers and sisters, their families, with other relatives and a host of friends.
The departed has for the past 10 years made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rear of Brazil and certainly the best of care has been given him and we believe with much appreciation on his part, but yet we know his affliction at times was very great and he was not accountable for his acts.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev. Wm. H. Slack and assisted by Richard Campbell.
Internment was made in the Centerville cemetery.
