Died - At the residence of O. H. Sharp in this city on Friday, July 13th, 1883, John B. Wright aged 70 years. The funeral took place from his late residence on Saturday at 4 o'clock P.M. and his remains were placed in their last resting place at Oakland Cemetery. The deceased had long been a prominent citizen of this county and had filled various positions of public trust and confidence. He was at one time Recorder of Appanoose county and mad a faithful officer. He leaves behind to mourn his demise a large circle of friends and relatives, among whom are Col. H. H. Wright, Mrs. L. C. Mechem, Mrs. O. H. Sharp and Miss Sally Wright. The old gentleman had lived out his three score and ten, and now in the evening of his days he has been gathered to the Father's. The friends and relatives have our full sympathy and in the language of the poet, "we are glad that he has lived thus long and glad that he has gone to his reward."
