Donna,
F.N. Beedy had a photography studio in Postville from at least the mid-1880's and into the 1890's. I can't give you exact dates, only clues taken from some of the old Postville newspapers:

December 19, 1885: I regret to say that I have been on the sick list for the past two weeks, and had to close the Gallery, but on and after Monday next, I will be on deck and ready to make those pictures for Christmas and New Years presents. Fred N. BEEDY.March 26, 1887: Having put in apparatus, I am now prepared to enlarge your picture to an 8X10 or any other size to a life size. Fred N. BEEDY, photographer.
Sept. 26, 1891: Harry THOMPSON, of Waukon, is learning photography with F.N. BEEDY.
October 22, 1897: Photographer and dealer in Picture Frames. Fred N. Beedy.
