I,m right in the middle of trying to unscramble this mess. One spouse or the other died young and the other remarried.
I am researching a Wilkie family (in my wife's tree)that is in IL. One son, George Benjamin Wilkie ended up in Bremer Co., IA where he married Charlotte Kijia Ricker born 17 Dec 1871 in Waukon, Allamakee Co., IA. Par.: Chester Ricker and Abigail Burgess. I was raised SE of Waukon and knew later members of the family so I'm trying to connect the dots. If I remember right, my dad went to high school with Lawrence Ricker, whose son married a cousin on my mother's side. So___?
The first I found was Charlotte, Lottie K. Ricker, 11, living with George and Clara Beall, Jefferson Twp., in 1895. Nothing else until married and living in Fayette Co., IA.
Somehow? found she had a brother, John Chester Ricker. This was Lawrence's (mentioned above) father.
John was born in 1876. By 1880, Chester had died? and Abigail had married John Asher and John Chester Ricker was with them. This makes your info suspect.
I need to get everything into my program. Then I can print it out and see what I have and where to next!
Thanks!
Bob
