I am trying to find information on my mother's first husband Leslie Earl Meskimen.
What I know:
Born 7-16-1918 in McGregor IA
Died 11-11-1959
He and my mother never "legally" married but are considered common law. They planned on marriage in 1957 prior to the birth of my sister (Linda Ann) however those plans where put on hold and never fufilled after he lost an arm in an accident at the logging mill. They also had a son Robert Earl in 1959 - Leslie reportedly died of cancer 10 months following his birth.
I know nothing further so any information would be helpful - my mother remarried twice following Leslie (1 divorce - 1 death of spouse) & to this day still has a photograph of herslef and Leslie she diplays in her home - mom does not like to "speak of the past" however I am trying to help my sister as she is curious as to her paternal roots and I am the resident genealogist in the family - tracing my fathers roots to the 1600's
