I have a family line that has stumped me for a while. The O'Mearas were in Connecticut in the mid-1850s, where their only two children were born. They came from Ireland and settled in Iowa. I have no maiden name for Mary, no idea where in Ireland they came from or where they stayed in Connecticut those few years. What I'm wondering is, because immigrants often followed family/friends or stayed with family/friends, if anyone else has a similar pattern. Connecticut is not that big, but I'm hoping a migration pattern might give me some direction.
