Larry,

Have you seen any variation in the spelling, such as O'Meara? Do you know where in Ireland your O'Maras came from? Do you know if they ever lived in Connecticut?

I am a descendent of O'Mearas from Hanover Township, which lies directly north of Union Prairie Township. Dennis and Willie O'Meara were the sons of James and Mary O'Meara and were born ca 1850s in Connecticut, but spent most of their childhood in Allamakee County. Dennis lived there until his death at around 90 years of age. I'm pretty certain there were no other siblings, but yours would have the proximity in age and geography to perhaps be cousins.

Just checking possibilities ...
