Shirley Ann Weipert, 53, of Freeport, Illinois and formerly of Lansing, Iowa, died Friday, June 4, 1993 of natural causes at her home in Freeport.

Shirley was born July 22, 1939 in Lansing, Iowa to parents Theodore and Florence Strub Weipert. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School, Lansing, Iowa in 1957.

After graduation she entered St. Rose Convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin for several years. She moved to Fulton, Illinois, and later to Freeport, Illinois. She worked as an executive secretary for Economy Fire and Casuality Insurance Company for 27 years. She was secretary and treasurer of the 25 Year Club and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Freeport.

Survivors include two brothers, Francis (Lila) Weipert, McGregor, Iowa and Kenneth (Julie) Weipert of Columbus, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Sharon, Jim, Kay, Steve, Jean, Betty, Sue and Richard; 18 great grand nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceeded in death by her parents; one sister, Ruth Miller, and one brother, Cletus Weipert.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8, 1993, 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lansing, Iowa, with Rev. Herbert Tegeler, Rev. William McLaughlin and Rev. Robert Levenhagen officiating. Buial in the Gethsemane Cemetery, rural Lansing.

Casketbearers were Jim Weipert, Steve Weipert, Bob Kainz, Rod Hillers, Rebo Maricle and Corey Maricle.

Burke-Thornburg of Lansing, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.
