William Tindall passed from this life at his home, three and a half miles northwest of Carbon, Sunday, February 25, 1917, at 12:30 o’clock in the afternoon. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the M. E. Church in Carbon at 2:30 o’clock and the body will be laid to rest in the Quincy Cemetery.
Mr. Tindall was born in New York City, New York, October 2, 1846, being aged 70 years, 4 months, and 22 days at the time of his death. He was married about 55 years ago to Miss Jane Garvey. After a time spent in Illinois and other places, the family came to Iowa and for nearly 42 years Adams County had been Mr. Tindall’s home, and during his long residence in the county, he has made many friends. Besides his faithful wife, he leaves the following children: Ray Tindall of Tindall, Montana; Mrs Carr, also of Montana; Mrs VanHouten, of Ainsley, Nebraska, who was with her father during his last days; Mrs. Retta Sage, south of Corning; Mrs. Sarah Walford, near Corning; Mrs. Evans of Avoca; and Charles Tindall, of near Carbon. Friends of the family extend sympathy to them in their hour of sorrow.
