MARRIED

A quiet home wedding was celebrated last Sunday morning, Jun 5, 1921, at 8 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Bixler, when their daughter, Mary Savilla, became the bride of Winfred F. Johnson. Prof. R. C. Robbins, of Aurora, Ill., officiated, the double ring service being used.

The bride wore a dove colored traveling suit.

After the ceremony, a dainty four course breakfast was served. The bridal couple left on train No. 6 for Woodstock Valley, Conn., where they will spend their honeymoon. The groom will attend summer school at Harvard. They expect to spend August with the bride’s sister, Mrs. Andrew Barnard, in Danville, Quebec. The will be at home in Kewanee, Il., after September 1st.

The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Bixler. She was born and reared in Adams county. She was graduated from the Corning high school in 1912, received her A. B. degrees from Aurora college, and took post graduate work in the university of Chicago. She has taught for the last three years in the Villisca, Elliott and Creston high schools.

The groom is a veteran of the world war. He is the athletic director and science teacher in the Wethersfield, Ill., high school. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Johnson, of Lynn. Mass.

The only guests besides the immediate family were the aunt and uncle of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Markley. The only out of town guests were Miss Ethel Mae Simpson, of Bedford, Iowa, and Mrs. Andrew Barnard sister, of the bride of Danville, Quebec, and daughter, Barbara Alice.
