MRS. ALICE SANDBERG WEDS CARL C. SMOUSE
Mrs. Alice Sandberg and Carl C. Smouse were married Wednesday at Waterloo, the ceremony being said by Rev. Lockwood, of the Methodist church at the parsonage in the presence of the bride’s brother, Eugene Willford and the bride’s son, Lorraine.
The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Smouse joins two of the oldest families in Vinton and is the culmination of a courtship of several years.
Mrs. Smouse has lived her entire life in Vinton and has devoted her life to the care and education of her son, Lorraine, who last year finished his pharamacistical course at Des Moines and is now employed in Waterloo. For several years she has been assistant to D. L. Bryan in his grocery and implement business.
Mr. Smouse was also born and raised in the Vinton community and returned only a short time ago from his service in the army in France. He is one of the fine young men of Vinton and the many friends of both the bride and groom will wish them much happiness in their married life. They will be at home at the Willford homestead which has been Mrs. Smouse’s home for so many years.
