Wilma Erger and Frank Maher Wed.
Wilma Erger, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Erger became the bride of Frank Maher youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Maher, farmers living southwest of Van Horne, at a pretty ceremony performed at St. Michael's Catholic church Thursday morning at 7:30. Rev. Kunkel officiated. The single ring ceremony took place before an altar banked with garden flowers and lighted with candles. Sister Phillippi played the played the wedding music. The bride wore a white silk net gown trimmed with lace. A bolero jacket and a white chiffon velvet belt added the finishing touches to her gown. Her head band of white netting was held in place by a halo of white gardenias. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias and Johanna Hill roses. Mrs. Roy Holsten of Cedar Rapids, who was matron of honor, wore a gown of peace crepe trimmed with blue velvet. Her bouquet was of roses and delphallias. She wore a head band of blue netting held in place with blue gardenias. Roy Holsten served as best man.
Serving as maids of honor were the bride's four nieces. Their dresses were of silk marquisette and styled alike of harmonizing colors. Miss Audrey Erger of MacIntire, wore yellow with aqua; Miss Eileen Pickart of Sioux Falls, S.D., wore aqua with coral trim; Miss Hazel Herrington of Cedar Rapids wore pink with blue trim and Miss Arlene Erger Walford wore blue with pink trim. Each wore a head band of silk netting to match the trim of their gowns. Attending the maids of honor were Lloyd Maher, Vincent O'Brian and Leland Barron of Van Horne and Richard O'Brian of Cedar Rapids.
Miss Celestine Bange sang "Ave Maria" and "O Lord I Am Not Worthy.".
After a wedding trip to the Black Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Maher will be a home near Van Horne.
