POPULAR YOUNG COUPLE WED

The following notice of the marriage of Ruth Evelyn Ransom to Elnar A. Hansen, was recorded in the Cedar Palls Daily Record.

At high noon, Sunday, August 28, occurred the wedding of Elnar A. Hansen of this city to Miss Ruth Evelyn Ransom of Blairstown, Rev. Ditman Smith, head of the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, an old friend of the bride, officiating. The beautiful ring service was used.

The marriage took place in the home of the pastor, witnessed only by Mrs. Smith, the brides mother, Mrs. Dora Ransom and Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Harter, uncle and aunt of the bride.

Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harter, 636 Forty-sixth street, where the wedding dinner was served.

The bride wore a navy blue traveling suit with a small tailored hat to match. She is a daughter of the late J. H. Ransom and Mrs. Dora N. Ransom of Blairstown, Iowa, and is well known locally. She was born at Blairstown where she grew to young womanhood. A graduate of the Blairstown high school, she has also spent several terms at Iowa State Teachers College and at Drake University. It was during her college days at Cedar Falls that the friendship started that grew into the college romance, which was happily consummated last Sunday. The bride is a member of Lincoln Star Chapter, 250, O. E. S. at Blairstown and is also a member of the Zayin Chapter of the Acoth Sorority at Cedar Falls. Since leaving school she has been following the teaching profession.

The groom who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl B. Hansen of New Hartford was born and grew up at Reinbeck. He is a graduate of the Reinbeck high school. During the World War he served with the 7th U. S. Cavalry for many months. He is a member of the Cedar Falls post of the American Legion and holds the rank of corporal in Headquarters Company, the local National Guard unit. He holds a position with the Standard Oil Company, having been in their employ here for more than a year.

After a brief honeymoon spent at the State Fair, they left for Cedar Falls where they will be at home to their friends after October 1st at 616 west 1st street.
