Shellsburg Jan 13- Mrs. Charles F. Stookey, 85 resident of Benton county all her life, died at 7:00 a.m. today at the nome of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Rife in Anamosa. Death came as a result of old age infirmities and a heart condition...
Mrs. Stookey was born Aug. 16, 1860 to Mr. and Mrs. William J. White of the Shellsburg community, on the White homestead north of town. The old old homestead is still in the family.
She was married to Charles F. Stookey of Vinton. P.L Stookey of lurg attorney, on April 20, 1881. Besides her husband, three children survivie. They ar Dr. C. Owen Stokey of Vinton, P. L. Stookey of Des Moines, and Mrs. O. A. Rife (Marie) of Anamosa. ...She was a member of the Methodist church and the Order of astern Star.
Burial will be in the Shellsburg cemetery at a date to be fixed later.
