Joseph Erger Dies At Home in Norway; Funeral Saturday

Norway, Feb. 24. - Funeral services for Joseph Erger, 82, who died at his home here at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, will be held from St. Michael's Catholic church in Norway at 9:30 a. m. Saturday.
Deceased was born July 1, 1856, at Padberg, Germany. He was married to Mary Bahle Mar. 4, 1886 at Norway. She died six years ago. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Frank Harrington, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Matt Pickart, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mrs. Ray Holston, Cedar Rapids, and Wilma at home; seven sons: Henry, McIntire; Louie, Walford; George, Sioux Falls; John, Rowley; Walter, Norway; Barney, Cedar Rapids, and Raymond, Walford. There are 37 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Norway, July 29. - Mrs. Joe Erger, 65, who had been in ill health for several years with diabetes, died at noon today at the family home in Norway. Her condition had been critical the last two weeks. Funeral rites will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic church here, with interment in St. Michael's cemetery. The Rev. Father Kunkle will be in charge of the services.
Mrs. Erger, who maiden name was Mary Behle, was born at Norway and had lived in this community all her life. She was married on March 4, 1887, to Joe Erger. The husband and eleven children are living. Other relatives surviving include twenty-eight grandchildren and two sisters.
