The contributor, René Skou Larsen, writes: "My grandmother's father was named Jacob Jacobsen, he had a brother, Jens Jacobsen born February 29, 1872, he immigrated to America in 1893. He settled in Douglas township in Audubon County in 1894. I have found him and his family in the 1925 and 1930 census and I also have a picture of the family. [Above] His wife's name was Mary née Christensen."

A short biography of Jens appears in the 1915 History of Audubon County by H. F. Andrews. Jens, Mary, Carl, Reuben, and Harvey are found in the 1930 Federal Census, Douglas Twp. Sheet 6B, Lines 42-46.

René identifies Jens and Mary's children as: 1) Son, Carl Elmer Jacobsen born 1903; 2) Sequro Chris Jacobsen born 1907; 3) Ruben Saxholm Jacobsen; and 4) Harvey Kargaard Jacobsen born 1914.

The contributor is working on family history/genealogy, and hoping to make contact with some of Jens' descendants.
