Dear sister & brother,
Rec'd your letter of the 27th this morning and I don't know who is a spoiled the worst, your man or my man. They'l [sic] shock people's modesty if they ever get together again and by the way the war news is pretty good. It makes a person feel like they were going to get home again sometime. I only hope it's true. Bulgaria has quite and Turkey is about in the notion.
Are having some horrid foggy weather. It's just so thick one can almost cut it and then being an hr. ahead of the sun, time seems like it's almost noon by the time it's daylight.
Wilson has set the 20th of this mo. to turn the clocks back, if he don't change it again. Eggs are worth 70 cents a doz. out here and butter is 53 cents a lb. That's what we pay for it. Herbert said it must be because he hasn't any corn this year, cause the corn is good. He had soft corn for 3 yrs. straight and this year they've got good corn.
Whoop the band is playing for guard mount. I pity the poor fellows that have to walk post these damp nights. Jorgensen & Christensen are both in the 89th reg. They are here at Worden now, the whole regiment is here. Guess they haven't enough me
