Rural School
Notes 1935
Union School, Ruth Meyer, teacher
Virgil Haar and Newell Deters had perfect attendance the
last six weeks period.
We have organized a Little Citizens' League. Virgil Haar
is president, Martin Bisping, secretary and Ruby's
Meiners, treasurer. We have a meeting every Friday
afternoon for an hour, when a program is given.
Roger Haar won the reading race. He had more than fifty
perfect lessons. Newell Deters was second.
For February decorations we made George and Martha
Washington and stage coach silhouettes, snowflakes
mounted on colored paper, and some penguins.
We made chairs for our reading table out of orange crates
and covered them with bright cretonne.
Martin Bisping is reporter for the school notes this
time.
The pupils wrote letters to others in Exeter, Neb., and
Lamberton, Minn.
Miss Eyrlich of New Ulm, Minn., visited our school one
day recently.
