Lansing twp. #5

Section 15, Lansing twp.

1933
Lansing No.5 School Notes

Gladys Gruber, Teacher

January 6 marked the close of the fourth month of school. Only two pupils, Dolores and Theresa Strub, have had perfect attendance up to date.

All grades have nicely met the requirements for the first half year's work.

Rita Batteen, who had been attending the i.C. Parochial School, has now commenced her work in our school. Welcome, Rita!

We have had several visits from patrons in our school district, also Miss Nan Clack, R.N., and Miss McCormick.

Our Christmas program was presented before a large audience Friday afternoon, December 23. We had a lovely Christmas tree and each pupil exchanged names for gifts. And, of course - Santa didn't forget about our program and was right ready to deliver the gifts and candy.

The following have earned spelling certificates: Clara, Clarence, and Loretta Weipert; Harold and Alice Moore, Mary and Dolores Strub.

Lansing No.5 School Notes
Martha Wendel, Teacher

Our enrollment this year is eleven, two of whom, James Strub and Jos. Hess, are beginners. The following have had perfect attendance so far this year: Mary, Delores, Theresa, Leonette and James Strub.

Mary Strub has read and reported on the most library books and Theresa Strub received a prize for the most perfect spelling lessons.

Ruth Alice Gruber and Miss Wendel had their dental cards properly signed.

Leonette Strub celebrated her 8th birthday, and treated us to a delicious birthday cake.

Our visitors have been Rita Bateen and Rodney Freilinger. We invite school patrons and friends to call on us.
