-contributed by Clark Pahlas, from his personal family collection. Clark is Albert Loeseke's nephew.

-notes from the contributor: "Albert Loeseke was my mother's brother, born and raised in Guttenberg, Clayton co. Iowa.  I remember him, he was one of my boyhood heroes...we had his army uniform in our spare-room closet. . .I tried it on many times (gas mask, helmet and all) fought many Germans.  Albert was, I believe a button-cutter when he was drafted, and assume he was plying his trade in Lansing at the time.
