The Old East Paint Creek Cemetery, originally called Storla Church, on grounds of the Old East Paint Creek Church at Dalby, is on Road A52 ten miles east of Waukon, Iowa. Records of services conducted at the Old East Paint Creek and Old West Paint Creek Churches between 1850 and 1950 written in old Norwegian script by the pastors serving those churches have been rendered in English by Elva Sorenson Steffenson and Olive Sorenson Severa. The places of burial were primarily in the Old East Paint Creek and Old West Paint Creek Church Cemeteries although some were buried in Oak Hill, Round Prairie, Waukon and Waterville Cemeteries. Where there is no question as to which cemetery was used names of the deceased have been included in the respective listings. Where some of the records were obscure as to burial site an attempt has been made to place the names of the deceased in the most likely listings. So some caution is advised unless such entries are supported by other information such as markers (M), death records (DR), obituaries (OBIT) or newpaper items (NI). Names of other deceased shown in the church records which have not been placed in a respective cemetery listing follow as a listing entitled Old Paint Creek (OPC) Church Records. pg
